Does what it says on the tin Sent on 05 September 2010I picked this particular external HD for two reasons: i) it was cheap and ii) it was the most featureless I could find, without any of the naff plastic detailing that most other manufacturers embellish theirs with. It does exactly what it says on the tin; it's also quiet, which is something you can't really tell from the description. Amazon delivery (free next day with Prime) was also particularly speedy; I ordered it at 6pm and it arrived on my desk at 11am the next day.
Minor niggle: the drive has a stupid WD icon by default. If you want an icon identical to the internal drives on your PC, you'll need to edit the file autorun.inf on the drive; this is fairly easy, google it.
Good harddisk Sent on 04 September 2010Harddisk was well packaged, nice design, as thin as it can be. Nearly no noise when it is in use and no issues yet with teperature, etc. Very good price for the performance and capacity!

It keeps my laptop running fast.

BUY IT AND DOWNLOAD THE INTERWEBS! Sent on 03 September 2010Having 1TB of storage is bloody amazing! HURRAY! It's a solid black box and it works as HD and did I mention you can store a terrabyte on it, lol ffs crazy business! It's fast enough for me, fairly compact and I've never had any problems with western digital stuff always found it to be top quality and last forever. Couple this drive with a 50MB connection and download the interwebs! ENJOY!
